- Abstract
The article provides information on a study which investigated genotypic distributions and allele frequencies of Slug C1548A polymorphisms in women from Shanxi Province, China. The study examined DNA samples from 59 women with a history of neural tube defect (NTD) pregnancies and 73 controls. It particularly evaluated nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) of Slug in the blood cell DNA of women who had experienced at least one NTD pregnancy. The research found that A allele Slug C1548A was a risk factor for neural tube defects.
