- Title
96.57 Stability of flotation, a look at the metacentre.
- Authors
ROBIN, ANTHONY C.
- Abstract
The article discusses how an object such as ship provides stability when immersed in fluid through buoyancy force, cited with mathematical models to represent the answer. It mentions that the Archimedes' principle offers a quantitative description of the buoyancy force wherein the up thrust force of the object is equal to the weight of displaced fluid. A rectangular block ABCD was illustrated to provide model for the problem and graphs are also presented to support the answers.
