The article highlights the necessity for data privacy and device security policy in light of technological advances in 2021. Topics discussed include data security concerns on the use of a biotechnology capable of augmenting the human brain called the brain-computer interfaces (BCI), developments in data privacy and device security regulation, and proposals for governing data privacy and device security capable of addressing the challenges of invasive consumer technologies such as BCI.
