- Abstract
In an essay, the author discusses the role played by the Jewish scholar Menasseh Ben Israel in early modern Jewish-Christian relations and more specifically in the cultural exchange and the transmission of Jewish knowledge to members of the Respublica litteraria. The author explains how Menasseh approached his Christian audiences and how he linked his scholarly efforts with his attempts to strengthen the position of Jews in Europe.
