- Abstract
The authors discuss the association between physical fitness, sociocognitive activity, and cognition in older adults. Topics include the increase in Alzheimer’s disease (AD) cases in the U.S. in people aged 65 and older as the U.S. population ages, mixed results in previous studies examining the relationship between exercise and memory in healthy older adults, and the statistical relationship between physical fitness and the performance on multiple cognitive domains, such as episodic memory.
