- Abstract
The article reports that tea mosquito bug and mealy bug are the new threats to cash crop large cardamom in the eastern Himalayan region including Sikkim and the Darjeeling hills in India, Nepal and Bhutan. Topics discussed include large cardamom being a substantial part of people's livelihood and food security, and large cardamom cultivation in Sikkim is facing threat due to pests, soil erosion and climate change.
