- Abstract
The psychological viewpoint of high-risk caries diet aims to elaborate the various factors that raise the risk of dental caries. People who follow unhealthy diet frequently display particular psychological tendencies that influence their food preferences, which in turn affects the dental health. The poster explores the important elements that increase the likelihood of developing dental caries. Parents play a crucial role in shaping children's oral hygiene and dietary habits, influencing their susceptibility to high-risk caries diet. Pediatric dentist must be attuned to these dynamics and provide effective diet counseling. In addition, the interplay of psychological factors, such as stress-induced or emotional eating, further complicates the landscape of high-risk caries diets, as individuals may inadvertently heighten their susceptibility through reliance on sugar-laden comfort foods. The advertisement for cavity causing products has a significant impact that cannot be overlooked. Captivating commercials, especially oriented toward children and teenagers, often influence their cravings and buying choices. Creating interventions to reduce the impact of these tactics involves understanding marketing strategies and how it affects the psychological factors behind food decisions. Therefore, designing oral health programs that consider the internal and external influences involved in taste perception and preferences of an individual up to and including the society as a whole would encourage lasting dietary changes and reduce the risk of cavities.
