- Abstract
The article focuses on the result of a study that harnessing geothermal light might photosynthesize an obligate photosynthetic anaerobe that could be found in deep-sea hydrothermal vents, geysers that form along volcanic mid-ocean ridges. Scientists J. T. Beatty and colleagues were able to investigate whether geothermal illumination could support photosynthesis. An analysis using electron microscopy revealed the light-harvesting chlorosomes are present in such vent.
