- Abstract
The article discusses on the different perspectives pertaining to the connection of science and reading. One perspective deals with the idea of science supporting the eagerness of the students to learn to read. It is claimed that the act of engaging in the ideas and experiences related to reading motivates the reader to make sense of what he reads. And because the engagement strategies include focusing on content goals and providing hands-on activities, the practice is allegedly well-suited to science. Another perspective deals with the way reading support science learning. It is claimed that when reading is practiced appropriately, text can facilitate students' learning throughout the inquiry process, thus making him more enthralled with the science world.
