- Abstract
The article reports on the government and civil service of Great Britain from 1988 to 1989. The year 1988 was characterized by media appearances and media related issues including the issue of televising parliament, and the reform of the Official Secrets Act. Many reforms were also put in the agenda by Margaret Thatcher including the privatization of Water and Electricity, the restructuring of the civil service, and the reform of the National Health Service. The Department of Health and Social security were restructured into the Department of Health and the Department of Security.
