- Title
Using Heart Rate Monitors for Effective Teaching and Curricular Accountability in Physical Education: A Commentary.
- Authors
Driscoll, Lisa G.; Conner-Gray, Bonnie
- Abstract
The authors present anecdotal observations and commentary on the tendency of physical education (PE) teachers to modify their instructional behavior over the course of an academic year in response to analyzing the student physical activity data recorded by heart rate monitors. They explore the challenges in measuring physical activity and the link between teaching effectiveness and curricular accountability in PE. They argue that changes in teaching practices may lead to effective instruction.
