- Abstract
The article discusses the environmental advocacy in New Zealand of the Transition Initiatives movement founded by British permaculture teacher Rob Hopkins. Topics included are their efforts at collaboration with local authorities and community action on climate change and peak oil issues, the establishment of the Energy Descent Action Plan, Transition Town and Transition Network, and the promotion of environmental resilience through diversity and modularity.
