- Abstract
The article explores the study "A Hippocampal Cdk5 Pathway Regulates Extinction of Contextual Fear," by F. Sananbenesi and colleagues. In this paper, researchers demonstrate that a hippocampus molecular pathway involving cyclin-dependent kinase 5 (Cdk5) regulates contextual fear extinction in mice. They also found out that fear extinction is abolished when Cdk5 is increased, whereas, switching Cdk5 activator P25 off returned Cdk5 activity and re-instated extinction.
