- Abstract
The aim of this work was to analyze the accordance among the current land use with the ideal land use capacity in a microbasin of the Piracicaba river, MG, using geoprocessing techniques. The current land use and land occupation in the microbasin was obtained through the supervised classification MAXVER (Maximum Likelihood), in which image of Landsat 8 OLI was used. Slope information was extracted from a Digital Elevation Model (DEM) with 30 m spatial resolution. The information of soils in the study area was acquired with the Bando de solos do Estado de Minas Gerais. The slope was the most limiting factor, in which 77.6% of the area is in an under heavily undulating and mountainous relief conditions. It was found that 68.6% of the area is non-compliance with the land use capacity, with 55.4% of the current land use and occupation being two classes above the ideal. The areas in accordance with the land use capacity are represented by the native vegetation. The use of geoprocessing assists in the identification of areas that are in non-compliance with sustainable management, allowing the adoption of measures to reduce erosion.
