- Abstract
The article titled "Monogamy Exposed: Notes for a Feminist Critique" is a review of the book of the same name, written by Mabel Alicia Campagnoli, Silvana Darré Otero, Mónica D'Uva, María Giannoni, María Marta Herrera, Mayra Leciñana Blanchard, and Laura Morroni. The book examines the ways in which we relate to each other and how these relationships are socially and historically regulated. It also analyzes the history of feminisms and seeks to redefine a collective memory in relation to institutions such as family, marriage, motherhood, and heterosexuality. The book criticizes the discourse of monogamy as a tool used by ultraconservative groups to exert influence in local powers. The text reflects on the feminist critique of monogamy and highlights the importance of ideas from thinkers such as Simone de Beauvoir, Emma Goldman, and Judith Butler. It also raises questions about monogamy and its relationship with jealousy, the marital contract, gender order, and reciprocity in romantic relationships. The article concludes by inviting further reflection on these topics.
