- Abstract
In ancient Greek theater, parabasis is defined as the players leaving the play for a while to make political criticism and then returning to the play. The parabasis, which has become one of the techniques used consciously in contemporary literature, especially with postmodernism, contributes to the construction of fragmented reality in the novel. In the researches about the using of parabasis as a technical element in the Turkish novel, it is seen that this term is not mentioned in the work and has not been changed with a postmodern mentality. In Hakkı Özdemir's last novel, Alesta Gönül, this term turns into a functional element in the structure of the novel. Parabasis, which is considered as an independent title in the magazine selection in the last part of the novel, indirectly makes one think about the proposal of being a novel in Alesta Gönül. In this study, the experience of transformation of the term parabasis into novel technique will be exemplified through the mentioned work.
