- Abstract
Bhamāla, one of the most important Buddhist establishments is located on the right bank of the Haro river in the Khānpur region of Taxila Valley. Recent Excavations at the site have brought to light many remarkable discoveries, which include the earliest monumental Parinirvāa statue of the Buddha, the terracotta sculptures, coins and other metal objects. The present research is focuses on the Buddha images in stucco surrounded with nimbus and aureole which are very rare in and outside the Gandhāra region.
