- Abstract
The article presents a reprint of the article "Towards a "Proper" Library, or Six Thousand Books in Search of a Home," by Joseph Sherman, which appeared in the 1993 edition of "A World Too Wide: Essays on Libraries and Other Themes in Honour of Reuben Musiker." In the article, the author discusses his experiences working in the Johannesburg Public Library in South Africa as a student. He also cites his meeting with Professor Reuben Musiker to take books from the Landau Library to the Johannesburg library.
