- Abstract
The article reports on the changes made to the U.S. social security optimization strategies under the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2015. Particular focus is given on the changes made to file and suspend, and restricted application. File and suspend allows the higher earning spouse to file for social security benefits at full retirement age and suspend collection benefit until age 70. Restricted applications allows a spouse to collect spousal benefits during or after full retirement age.
