- Title
Reassessing data quality underlying the recently updated floristic map of the world.

- Abstract
A recent study published in Nature Communications generated global maps of floristic realms based on the native distributions of angiosperm genera. However, upon reassessing the data used in the study, the author found significant flaws. Many geographic units included a large number of non-native genera, while many native genera were not included. This compromises the validity of the maps and analyses reported in the study. The author highlights two major problems: the inclusion of non-native genera and the incompleteness of genus lists for certain geographic units. These issues could introduce biases and invalidate the study's conclusions.
