- Abstract
The present work reported, the activated carbons prepared from Delonix regia pods using H3PO4 and KOH were designated as Phosphoric Acid Activated Carbon (PAAC) and Potassium Hydroxide Activated Carbon (PHAC). Adsorption experiments were carried out in a batch process and various experimental parameters such as effect of adsorbent dosage, contact time, initial metal ion concentration, temperature and pH on percentage removal have been studied. The adsorption process of Cr (VI) ions onto PAAC and PHAC is in good agreement with the Frendlich and Langmuir adsorption isotherm and follows the pseudo-second-order kinetic model. Furthermore, thermodynamics parameters were investigated.
