- Title
Chas. S. Tanner Co. Reports Two New Reactors On Stream.
- Abstract
The article reports that Chas. S. Tanner Co.'s textile chemical production capacity has increased from 85m to 120m pounds a year with the start of two of its 6,000-gal polymerization reactors at its Greenville, South Carolina plant. The company has acquired more space at Greenville, for research and development and for sales and executive offices in an 18,000 sq. ft. building at Donaldson Center Industrial Park, and 22,000 sq. ft. separately for its warehouse. The company's new reactors are controlled by an analog computer system which monitors feed and reaction rates to assure uniformity of their product. The new system is stated to have provided the company its single largest raise in productive capacity since it entered the polymer field 106 years ago.
