- Title
The Anti-Feminist Character of Bella Swan, or Why the Twilight Saga is Regressive.
- Authors
Eddo-Lodge, Reni
- Abstract
The article offers the author's view on the anti-feministic quality of the fictional character Bella Swan from the book "Twilight." The author states that Bella do not exhibit qualities of heroine such as courage, fortitude, and noble achievements. The character spends the majority of the story standing on the side-lines in full faith that the male characters will fight her battles and has been described as weak and breakable. The author also mentions that Bella is often attracted, dragged, and restrained by her love interests Jacob Black and Edward Cullen.
