The article examines the art and aesthetics in Hindu studies. It explains how arts are helping Hindu studies expand beyond the older preserve of the textual manuscript. The importance of arts for Hindu theological thought is also explored. It discusses the approaches to a hermeneutics of the Hindu arts, including artefactual, iconic and embodied.
