Mit allen Folgen für die demokratische Gesellschaft: Gender-Narrative im AfD-Wahlprogramm 2021.
- Authors
WILDE, GABRIELE
- Abstract
The article analyzes the election program of the AfD for the 2021 federal election and shows how the party influences democratic society through its discursive practices. The AfD emphasizes the family as the "nucleus of society" and rejects other forms of family. At the same time, terms such as gender equality policy and identity are given new meanings in order to maintain control over traditional gender roles and family cultures. The AfD also plays with anti-gender frames and links gender with other categories of difference to legitimize its anti-migration policy. The text deals with authoritarian populism and its effects on the political public sphere in Germany. It is pointed out that these discourses can threaten the democratic foundations of society.
