- Abstract
Reports on the removal of potassium with peritoneal dialysis in patients with hyperkalemia from the extracellular fluid space. Demonstration of increased plasma clearances of urea, creatinine and calcium during hypertonic peritoneal dialysis; Calculation of the ultrafiltration volume per exchange as the difference volume between the drainage and instilled volumes in liters; Decrease in clearances of potassium and maximum potassium removal rates over clinical serum potassium ranges with peritoneal dialysis.
