- Abstract
This article is a special section of the journal Technology & Health Care, featuring selected papers from the 14th International Conference BIOMDLORE2023. The conference focused on various topics in biomedical engineering, including biomechanics, medical diagnostics, locomotion, and rehabilitation. The papers presented in this section cover a range of topics, such as loneliness monitoring in the elderly, aortic tissue tension, knee joint load estimation, mobility trainers for children, Parkinson's disease classification, gait support in healthy children, gender and load state recognition, orthopedic brace design, impact of body mass change on fatigue, prediction of exam scores using physiological signals, and assessment of disease severity in COVID-19 patients. These research findings are relevant to experts, practitioners, and young researchers in engineering, medicine, rehabilitation, and information technology.
