- Abstract
The aim of the research is to determine the knowledge levels of science-technology and biology pre-service teachers about laboratory safety. The knowledge test, developed by the researchers, was used as the data collection tool in the research. The study group of the research consisted of 31 science and technology pre-service teachers and 36 biology pre-service teachers in their third years of education. The findings obtained in the research were expressed in the percentage-frequency form. The findings suggest that most science and technology pre-service teachers stated that, eating, drinking, and distracting and disturbing behaviours should not be allowed in the laboratory environment, whereas biology pre-service teachers suggested that people should not eat and drink and female students should not work with straggly hair. Besides, it was determined that both groups of teacher candidates recognized and correctly expressed the symbols of "gloves", "explosion safety" and "eye safety" most
