- Authors
Abrams, Kerry
- Abstract
An essay is presented discussing the debate on e-marriage, the concept of which has been developed by Mae Kuykendall & Adam Candeub, professors of law from the Michigan State University College of Law in East Lansing, Michigan, in their article "Modernizing Marriage." According to them e-marriage would be the instantiation of the ancient phenomenon of proxy marriage. It offers historical observations about the evolution of proxy marriage and its demotion by the National Origins Act of 1924.
