- Title
Supporting Teachers in Supporting At-risk Student Behavioral Development.
- Authors
Ryan, Joseph B.; Mooney, Paul
- Abstract
In this article, the authors provide simple steps to enable teachers to help students use an inexpensive smartphone app to increase student on-task attending during instruction. In addressing self-injurious behaviors in young children, the authors discuss intervention strategies for early care and education center providers and family caregivers, particularly how to determine what a child's self-injurious behavior is communicating so that new, more appropriate communication skills can be taught to replace the self-injurious behavior. Special educators who work with students with emotional and behavioral disorders (EBD) need to feel confident in their ability to deal with a wide variety of challenging behaviors.
