- Abstract
The article discusses corruption and political corruption in U.S., through referencing the country's history from the 1800s through the early 2010s. An overview of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy's perspective on corruption, including in regard to his majority opinion in the 2010 Supreme Court Case "Citizens United v. Federal Elections Committee, is provided. An overview of the conception of corruption within U.S. democratic liberalism, including its consisting of bribery, is provided. The relationship between markets and corruption, including in regard to the impact that markets have on government, is discussed.
