- Abstract
The article focuses on the science courses offered by vocational high schools in New York City. Among the science courses are high school chemistry, physics and biology. The author identified science courses as one of the offerings that provide mental understanding essential to intelligent work planning and execution. In addition, these courses also provide a base for greater adaptability to changing job requirements resulting from technological innovations. Trade training and technical training are also provided in Vocational High School Division. Trade training is offered either for the skilled or semi-skilled areas while technical training qualifies the student to work as a technician or for entrance into engineering college.
