- Abstract
The article presents a report on science education of the National Association For Research In Science Teaching. It also outlines the findings of the questionnaire on teaching practices followed in secondary school science instruction. The content of the questionnaire were selected from several books on the teaching of science, and articles appearing in the literature of the field. Over 350 representative junior and senior-high schools in all parts of the U.S. presented the answers to the questionnaire. The Committee suggested that a follow-up should be taken to identify what classroom teachers think are good and bad practices. In addition, the Committee suggested follow-up of the actual activities in the science classrooms. The questionnaire also revealed the problems faced in science education.
