- Abstract
The article reports on the tax reimbursement request of textile exporters in India. Exporters of textiles and garments in India are asking the government to reimburse transaction costs and local taxes and reduce interest rates on pre- and post-shipment deliveries. The exporters are asking for the reimbursements to offset the impact of rupee appreciation. Export growth was affected by the appreciation of the rupee during the last six months. Exports are expected to decline because of the rupee appreciation.
