- Title
Textile mills request to be spared from power cuts.
- Abstract
The article deals with the appeal by the Southern India Mills' Association (SIMA) to the Andhra Pradesh (AP) government in India to exempt textile mills from power cuts. S. V. Arumugam, chairman of SIMA, sent a memorandum to the AP government saying textile mills were lured by incentives and encouraged to set up units in the region under the AP Textile and Apparel Policy 2005-2010. Arumugam said the association decided to establish a textile park at Naidupet. He also claims that the power cut clause was not declared in the AP policy.
