- Abstract
The article focuses on the debate concerning higher cost of renewable energy as advancing technology and global petroleum pricing issues enhance the competitiveness of renewables in small island developing states. The significant advantages of utilizing localized wind, geothermal and biomass in energy security in SIDS is being discussed. The reasons behind the support for renewable energy use in SIDS along with other energy resources that eases high energy costs is included.
