- Abstract
The article discusses the outbreak of hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) caused by coxsackievirus A6 (CVA6) among military trainees at Lackland Air Force Base (AFB) in Texas in 2015. Topics include the suspected case of HFMD was determined as the occurrence of multiple erythematous papulovesicular lesions on the arms, legs, face or oral mucosa, bioinformatic analysis, and steps taken to limit the spread and minimize lost training days at AFB.
