- Abstract
The article presents several case studies on suspected exposure to palytoxin due to zoanthid marine corals in aquarium shops and homes in Alaska from 2012 to 2014. Topics include the epidemiologic investigation conducted by the Alaska Section of Epidemiology (SOE) to detect palytoxin inhalation in patients exposed to zoanthid marine corals, the testing of coral samples by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition.
