- Abstract
The literature on joint ventures has evolved in two parallel directions: the study of domestic and international joint ventures. In the case of international joint ventures it is emphasized their character as a means for international expansion and in the case of domestic joint ventures, their potential for collusion and organizational learning. In this paper we analyse two different data bases collecting joint ventures created by Spanish firms with the purpose of obtaining the profile of both types of joint ventures.
