- Abstract
The article examines "court-sponsored" secrecy and public health decisions on how to protect the health of the population. It offers an overview of cases that shielded patterns of injury and diseases through protective orders and other secrecy agreements which includes the Dalkon Shield and Bridgestone/Firestone tires. It states that free flow of information may advance public health since this will provide consumers with information about the dangers of certain products.
