- Abstract
The author discusses the need for a jurisdiction piracy statute that takes into account the evolution of piracy as of July 2015. Topics discussed include the sole U.S. universal jurisdiction piracy statute that limits use of the judicial system to suppress the crime, international cooperation to deal with world's piracy problem in 2015, and need of reform in the U.S. piracy laws in accordance with universal jurisdiction, international law and standards of criminal punishment.
