- Abstract
Field experience (practica, internships) plays a key role in teacher education. Up to now, traditional models still predominate, however. Partner-school models are regarded as an innovation that promises higher professionalization owing to more cooperation and more continuity. An intervention study at the St. Gallen university of teacher education explored such a model (n1 = 33, n2 = 80). Student teachers in the partner-school model show positive effects regarding the integration of theoretical knowledge and the orientation towards the pupils’ learning. The data indicate that the temporal and local continuity might cause the positive effects of the intervention to a higher extent than the more intensive cooperation does.
