- Abstract
The presents a study which examines the Single Particle Soot Photometer (SP2) intercomparison at the Aerosols Interaction and Dynamics in the Atmosphere (AIDA) chamber in Karlsruhe, Germany. A brief overview of soot particles is provided which consist of black carbon (BC), organic carbon (OC) and trace elements. It is inferred that the measurement of the mass of refractory BC is essential to assess its effects on human health and the climate.
