- Abstract
To effectively detect weak useful signals embedded in strong noise, we constructe a three-dimensional dissipative chaotic system with rich dynamic behavior. By using the numerical simulation methods including phase diagrams, Lyapunov exponent spectra and bifurcation diagrams, we analyze the complex dynamic behavior of system, and make use of the system's good noise immunity and extreme sensitivity to detect weak signals of unknown frequency. By analyzing the stability of equilibrium point, we determine the critical threshold for the topological shape change of chaotic attractor. The system operates near the switching threshold, which is located between the double-scroll chaotic state and the single-scroll chaotic state, such that the amplitude of the weak signal affects the topological shape of chaotic attractor. Additionally, we construct the simulation circuit of system in Multisim, and build the actual physical circuit. The experimental results of simulation circuit are consistent with the numerical analysis results. This study indicates that the system can provide a new idea for practical engineering applications in the field of weak signal detection.
