- Abstract
The article reports on a study comparing the radiographic data on perceived lesion depth with histologic measurement of actual lesion depth. In order to direct histologic measurements, Ektaspeed and Ultraspeed dental x-ray images of rated interproxirnal carious lesions are compared in this study. The study found no significant difference in the diagnostic yield from Ektaspeed or Ultraspeed radiographic film. It is also reported that the findings are likely to have certain clinical implications regarding diagnosis and management of radiographically detected caries.
