- Authors
McLinn, Harry M.
- Abstract
The article analyzes the Steiner approach to cephalometric theory and technique. Cephalometrics, as stated, has five aspects including, it radiologically studies cranio-facial structures, it determines dento-facial growth trends and potentials, and it determines diagnostically appropriate therapy. It is stated that, cephalometrics is an important clinical diagnostic tool for the dentist and other office personnel. Cephalometrics, as reported, has several major treatment benefits including, demonstration of beneficial growth trends using established age norms for comparison, reinforcement of clinical judgment made during routine examination, and definition of the form and pace of dental treatment through prediction of dental needs, eruptive problems, and structural faults.
