- Abstract
This paper is an in-depth study of the women who studied at the University of Valladolid, influenced by a number of different political times. The adoption of a broad outlook regarding the manner in which these pioneering students gained access to university and mindsets regarding the social status of women in the late 19th century allows us to delve further into the events of the dictatorship of Primo de Rivera and, especially, the Second Spanish Republic, by analysing figures and changes. The quantitative and qualitative analysis of the documentary sources from the Archive of the University of Valladolid wants to shed light on the evolution and decisive factors of the female presence in this university and reconstruct those lives marked by the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War and the Franco's dictatorship.
