- Title
Baptist Missions in Recent Decades: Patterns in Laity Involvement, Particularly among the Younger Generation.
- Authors
Gourley, Bruce
- Abstract
The article focuses on patterns in laity involvement in Baptists missions, particularly among the younger generation. Baptist young people today are much more interested in hands-on missions experiences than their counterparts thirty years ago or fifty years ago. Missions attitudes and participation among young Baptists are highly dynamic in response to the modern flow of information. The recent development of local Baptist churches hiring mission coordinators signifies a shifting in the locus of Baptist missions from Baptist institutions to the local church.
