- Abstract
Although human rights have existed since the first societies, they have started to come to the fore more today, especially with the changing economic, political and technological developments in the globalizing world. Undoubtedly, the media plays an important role in the development and dissemination of human rights. With the introduction of the internet into life with information and communication technologies, new communication technologies have begun to form, so it can be said that these new environments, in which readers and viewers can actively participate, create a kind of democratic environment. The aim of this study is to examine human rights that have developed with new communication technologies in this context. Internet journalism, which presents news from these technologies with unlimited possibilities such as speed, accessibility, hypertext, photo and video galleries, is important. In the study, it was stated that human rights can be entered when ethical rules are not followed in the news of women and children in these newspapers, and then it is emphasized what the right to communication, freedom of expression, the right to personal data and the right to be forgotten are in social media and human rights. As a result, it has been revealed that the place and importance of these rights used in new media communication tools in human life is an undeniable fact.
