The article discusses how the UAE and Bahrain, and subsequently Sudan and Morocco, were so ready to ignore the stigma of"normalization" and establish full and open diplomatic relations with Israel. The sweeteners the United States offered were integral to their acceptance of the Accords: permission to purchase F-35's in the case of the UAE and, for Sudan, its removal from the U.S. list of supporters of state terrorism.
